Dames’ Holiday Luncheon Ladies, it is that time of year again to come together in all our glory to celebrate the holidays at the beautiful JW Marriott Resort. Please select from the menu selection below and include it with your check. There will be no reserved seats, just come and meet new and old friends on this joyous occasion. Please do not arrive much earlier than 1:30 as the restaurant will NOT allow us to enter until that time. Please wait in the lounge area until the word is given they are set up for us. Last year, I offered “Be a Santa to a Senior” to everyone and it was so well received that we will be doing it once again. Many of us have bulging drawers and stuffed closets with red and purple pretties and I’d like for us to spread cheer to seniors who are less fortunate than us. I’ve met with a Community Relations Specialist from the Home Instead Senior Care Organization and have made arrangements for us to “Be a Santa to a Senior.” Visit their website atwww.homeinstead.com to learn more about them. In October, they will give me a list of Seniors and what they need;
this works much like the Angel trees we see in the malls at the holiday time but
this is only for seniors who are in care centers or are at home and in need of
our help. They might need items such
as socks, sweaters, blankets, stamps, PJ’s, etc.
Most items needed are in our price range of what we were spending on each
other. You can even get a friend to
share the cost of an item. You will
be asked to wrap it and put a Code # and Name on the package so that it gets
delivered to the senior in need. I
am still working on finalizing all the details with them and perhaps we can make
a couple of deliveries ourselves if you like.
Valet parking is $6 but you can get your tickets stamped and only pay a tip if you like. Your other choice is park towards the north end where the Grand Ballrooms are for free and come up the escalators and then take the elevators down to the Blue Sage. It is a little bit of a hike and not for everyone. Why not carpool and share the valet parking tip!
